Rental Protection Plan

The Renter’s Protection Plan guards against liability for damage or theft of a rental outfit. This ensures the renter is not liable for the full value of the instrument should something unfortunate occur. The Protection Plan is optional but highly recommended for the Protege Level, and required for the Artist Level. A small monthly fee is added to your rental charges at the following rates (plus tax):

In the event of damage, you will be charge a copay based on the type and level of your rental. Damage that can be repaired back to rentable condition is considered “repairable”. Damage that is not repairable, as well as loss and theft, are considered “Non-Repairable”. Please see fees below:

EXCEPTIONS TO COVERAGE:

*Blackerby Violin Shop will not reimburse renters for any repair work done at another shop.

*Coverage is void if:

account is not current on payments
instrument is checked into stow-away luggage on an airplane (carry-on is permitted).
instrument is taken outside the continental United States.
repairs or adjustments are made at another shop, or by someone other than a Blackerby staff member.

Protege Level Customers may decline the Protection Plan but are fully liable for the retail value of the rental outfit.

The Protection Plan is required for all Artist Level Rentals, but does not count toward accumulated rental credit.
